The CEREC (Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic) system entered the Quebec market in 1989 and has undergone numerous improvements since. CEREC 3D® was developed in 1980 in Germany and Switzerland using CAD-CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) technology and is a proven, durable, fast and reliable dental restoration process.
Recognized for more than 25 years, CEREC 3D® is able to produce a restoration of tooth ceramics efficiently while preserving and reinforcing the still intact parts of these teeth.
One of the main advantages of the CEREC 3D® method is that it is possible to make a crown, facet or restoration of biocompatible ceramics, a material that is more aesthetic and more resistant than the composite . In addition, the cost is equivalent to or less than the traditional approach.
Unlike the CEREC 3D® method, the traditional approach requires two visits. The first visit includes local anesthesia, preparation of the tooth, taking impressions, taking the joint and putting in place a temporary filling. The restoration is then manufactured in the laboratory. The second visit takes place about 15 days later; It includes local anesthesia, the removal of the temporary restoration and the cementation of the permanent restoration.
The CEREC 3D® system is divided into two parts. The first part includes the design of the restoration that allows the dentist to take a 3D fingerprintWith a digital camera. The second part is made up of a computer robot that sizes in a block of ceramic the same color as the missing part tooth. After ensuring the success of the restoration and after receiving the patient's approval for the aesthetic of the procedure, the procedure is glued to the tooth and restores its strength and function.
Finally, another great advantage of this method is the absence of metal in the restoration. In cases where aesthetics are important, it is possible to add tints and glazes before cementing.
Cutting-edge technology in modern dentistry, CEREC allows us to offer you high quality ceramic crowns and inlays in one visit!
